The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight

How did I get it?:
I bought it!

Synopsis:

Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Imagine if she hadn’t fogotten the book. Or if there hadn’t been traffic on the expressway. Or if she hadn’t fumbled the coins for the toll. What if she’d run just that little bit faster and caught the flight she was supposed to be on. Would it have been something else – the weather over the atlantic or a fault with the plane?

Hadley isn’t sure if she believes in destiny or fate but, on what is potentially the worst day of each of their lives, it’s the quirks of timing and chance events that mean Hadley meets Oliver…

Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver’s story will make you believe that true love finds you when you’re least expecting it.

Thoughts:

This book is an incredibly sweet bite-sized read that I think could be enjoyed by teenagers onwards! It’s so heart-warming. It’s about an American girl and an English boy thrown together at an airport, catching the same flight, which ends up changing their lives. At first I thought it was completely cheesy, but I kept with it and instead found it so sweet and a really charming read! It would make a great chick flick.

Considering the book only spanned 24 hours I felt that I was rooting for both Hadley and Oliver. They may not be characters full of depth, but this might have something to do with it being such a short story. We learn about their lives and the big changes they are going through in such a short period of time, but it never feels rushed. I think that’s what sets it aside from a normal ‘chick lit’. It’s not just about the romance, it’s about family issues and the impact a change in the family unit can have.

I really enjoyed this short, sweet read. It had much more depth than I expected for such a short book!

Would I recommend it?:
Of course!
