Set in the exclusive Swiss ski resort of Verbier, the winter playground of the rich and famous, Confessions of a Chalet Girl is a fun and flirty contemporary romance novella from the fabulous Lorraine Wilson.
The slopes seriously start to heat up when chalet girl Holly is propositioned by her sexy new boss!
Sometimes I just like to indulge in a book like this one! An easy, light read which is quick and enjoyable to read.
You might think that this book is about snowboarders or skiers. It’s not. There is one skiing scene, but it’s not the main focus of the book. It’s about Holly, an English girl who works in a chalet in Verbier over the winter. It’s about her relationship with her boss Scott. Confessions Of A Chalet girl isn’t all lightness though. Holly and Scott have their own personal issues that they need to deal with.
Confessions Of A Chalet Girl is written with alternate points of view, between Holly and Scott. It’s well written and having both of their perspectives helped get to know them better. I felt like I knew them quite well considering it’s a novella. I think the bad thing about this being a novella, is the fact that their problems aren’t really touched upon in much depth. I’m sure if it was a full length book then Lorraine Wilson would’ve developed the writing of their problems in much more depth. She certainly shows much promise as a writer with this book.
I loved the relationship between Holly and Scott, it was believable and I found myself rooting for them. There are some great (and smutty, for those that love smut!) scenes between them. I think Confessions Of A Chalet Girl is a decent, cute read which is well worth checking out if you enjoy reading this genre.
