Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you’re adding to your shelves, be it buying or borrowing. From ‘real’ books you’ve purchased, a book you’ve borrowed, a book you’ve been given or an e-book they can all be shared!

On Monday 19th August it was my birthday! I’m getting my bookish presents from my parents this weekend so I have included what I received from other people and I guess I’ll have more to add to the birthday pile next week.

Borrowed from Bibliobeth:

Every now and then my sister unleashes a stash of books that she’s been storing for me.

I don’t know anything about these books. Obviously I respect my sister’s opinion on books so if se thinks I’ll like them… then fair enough! I’m particularly intrigued by Reconstructing Amelia from this selection.

I love Diane Chamberlain’s books so I’m looking forward to reading Necessary Lies. I’m also very excited about reading Kiss Me First. I’m also a huge fan of Jojo Moyes so I can’t wait to read Honeymoon In Paris.

Birthday Gifts (to be continued…):

I’m pretty excited about all of these books. I can’t wait to read Insurgent and The Evolution of Mara Dyer. I loved the first book in those series, so I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the next book. I’ve wanted to read The 5th Wave for a while. I’ve also heard great things about Cruel Summer and Forbidden. I’m a bit disappointed that I haven’t got the other cover of Daughter Of Smoke and Bone. I liked the previous cover much better. However, I’m really looking forward to starting that series. I also have really enjoyed Emma Donoghue’s previous books, so Astray looks promising!

What are you stacking your shelves with this week? Please feel free to leave a link to your posts and I’ll come and check them out at some point this weekend!

  1. Know I’ve already said it but Happy Birthday 🙂
I have The 5th Wave but still not read it and I was so excited but then got distracted by others. Plan to read Cruel Summer next week, only been told great things about it and finally really looking forward to seeing what you think of Forbidden.

  2. Did I wish you happy birthday? If not, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, CHRISSI!
The Evolution of Mara Dyer is even better than the first book. It’s so good! But also very sad. The ending is left on a massive cliffhanger.

    Happy reading, Chrissi!

  3. Happy B-Day! Mine is next week, but I don’t think I’ll get as many books as you 🙂 I have a few of these books, but they only one I’ve read is Daughter of Smoke, which is truly amazing.

Thanks for stopping by and happy reading 🙂

  4. Happy belated birthday, Chrissi! You got lots of good-looking books. I’ve been meaning to read Reconstructing Amelia. It looks intriguing. I read the Unbecoming of Mara when it came out, but still need to read the second book. I need to get on the 5th Wave, too. Great haul and happy reading!

  5. The Secret Keeper is even better than The Forgotten Garden, in my opinion. I hope you like it! And that you had a great birthday. =) I haven’t read any of the others in your stacks, but I plan to read Insurgent and something by Jojo Moyes as soon as one of my holds at the library comes in. =) She is definitely making waves in the literary world.

  6. Ooh happy late birthday! The Evolution of Mara Dyer was SO good and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about The Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The 5th Wave! I also think I like the previous cover better for Daughter, but I see how it ties into the book 🙂

    Fantastic haul!

  7. So many birthday gifts! 😀
I loved The Evolution of Mara Dyer and the Daughter of Smoke & Bone. I hope you’ll enjoy those two books!
Enjoy all your lovely books & thanks for stopping by my STS! (:
