Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. This week we’re imagining it’s a perfect world and TV and movies don’t butcher our favourite books. Here are my Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV show. (Click on the image to take you to Goodreads!)

In no particular order…

Hotel On The Corner of Bitter and Sweet- Jamie Ford– I was swept away by this book. It was a beautiful debut. Great writing and a heart-warming story. I’d love to see this as a movie.

Cross My Heart Carmen Reid– I know, I know I keep adding this book to my Top Ten lists, but I can’t recommend it enough. I think it’s such a touching and poignant read. If transferred carefully to the big screen (not changing anything because it’s perfect!) then it could be an amazing movie.

CuckooJulia Crouch– Sometimes I like to watch darker things, and this would be perfect. It was incredibly gripping but very disturbing.

UndoneCat Clarke– I’ve really enjoyed Cat Clarke’s book, and Undone is a particular favourite of mine. An incredible ending!

Gone GirlGillian Flynn– This fulfils myΒ need for a darker story. I loved Gone Girl.

Me Before YouJojo Moyes– This book was a perfect read for me. I think it could be an incredible, emotional movie.

My Best Friend’s Girl- Dorothy Koomson– I was really touched by this book.

Johnny Be GoodPaige Toon- I can’t resist a good chick-lit/flick and this would be perfect!

The Book Of TomorrowCecelia Ahern– Cecelia Ahern is one of my favourite authors. Her writing is always magical and I think this could be a beautiful movie.

The Boy With The Cuckoo Clock HeartMathias Malzieu- This would be a quirky film for sure!

Please feel free to leave the link to your Top Ten list so I can see what you’ve listed!

  1. I have Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet on my TBR list, I can’t wait to read it. I’ve read Gone Girl too but didn’t much like the ending. =( A few others on your list sounds amazing and I’ve put them on my Wish List! Thanks for sharing!

  2. I’ve had to look up almost every one of the books your mentioned. And I am pretty sure that I have added at least four to my TBR. Gone Girl is going to be made into a movie. With Ben Affleck as the lead dude and Rosamund Pike as his wife. I really want to read that book.

Thanks so much for the list.

  3. That was a really interesting list, and I enjoyed reading the reasons for your picks. The Boy with the Cuckoo-Clock Heart does sound like it would be really quirky and fun, and I love the cover πŸ™‚

  4. I really need to read Undone soon, I’ve heard such good things about it. At least you shouldn’t have /too/ long to wait until Gone Girl is a film…

    • You’re welcome Michelle, thanks for the return visit. I found out that it is going to be a movie! Think it’ll be interesting to see how they do it. I hope you enjoy Undone when you get around to reading it.

  5. I’m sure someone else said this in your comments, but Gone Girl is going to be a movie! And oh my god I just looked up the casting and David Fincher is directing! That’s so cool. But it also says that Neil Patrick Harris is going to play Desi, which seems kind of odd. I guess we’ll see. Great list!

  6. I’m ashamed to amit I haven’t read a single one of those. Some of them look really good and I’ve heard great things about many of them. Thanks for visiting my TTT.

  7. I just read Me Before You – I know the movie rights have been sold, but to me the internal voice of Lou and the intensity of feeling is the things that makes it for me. It would be great if a movie came out that worked, but I’d worry that it wouldn’t live up to the book for me.

Comments make me smile and I love to reply to them! Thanks for visiting today!
