Top Ten Books I Read in 2013

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week a new list is posted for us to complete. This week’s list is the Top Ten Books I Read in 2013.  This is going to be so hard as I really do think I’ve read some amazing books this year! I’ve picked the first 10 five star books on my read this year shelf on Goodreads!

In no particular order…

Crash Into YouKatie McGarry– I really got into the Pushing The Limits series this year, but Crash Into You was my favourite. It was a very emotional read.

These Broken StarsAmie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner– I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did.

Cross My HeartCarmen Reid– This book really touched me. I thought it was superb!

Stay Where You Are And Then LeaveJohn Boyne– Another touching read!

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer– Michelle Hodkin–  I absolutely love this series. It messed with my head, but I can’t wait to see how it concludes in 2014!

DivergentVeronica Roth–  I fell in love with this series. Divergent gripped me right from the start!

BoundlessCynthia Hand– I loved this series (well apart from the second Hallowed, which I was pretty indifferent to!) and Boundless was the perfect ending to the series!

The Flavours of LoveDorothy Koomson– Dorothy Koomson is a superb author. I always pre-order her books and so far I’ve never been disappointed! This book is actually quite dark, which I don’t think you’d expect from the cover.

Magic Under GlassJaclyn Dolamore- This story was so magical. I loved it and can’t wait to read the next in the series!

Losing HopeColleen Hoover– For some reason I loved this book much more than Hopeless. I just love Holder!

I could have added so many more to this list!

What are your favourite books of 2013? I hope you all have a Happy New Year! May your 2014 be full of awesome books!

  1. I loved These Broken Stars too! It’s also one of my favorites. Although I already had the feeling I was going to love it before I started reading it, so to me it didn’t come as a surprise.
While I loved Unearthly and Hallowed, I still haven’t read Boundless! Hallowed was actually my favorite of the two books. Unfortunately I have already been spoiled about the ending so I don’t know if I should read it now that I already know what’s going to happen. Ugh, spoilers! But I’m glad it’s among your favorites!

  2. I haven’t read any of these, but a few have really caught my eye . I’d really like to check out The Flavours of Love… and I still haven’t read Divergent, which I really should do. Happy New Year!

  3. I loved Crash Into You, and since it was my first from McGarry I actually went and bought the whole series! I’m reading Pushing the Limits right now, and it’s so so good.

These Broken Stars was good, but I actually wasn’t blown away like I had been expecting.

    My TTT

  4. I desperately need to read These Broken Stars and the Mara Dyer books. So many people keep raving about them, and I kind of feel out of the loop a bit, haha.
I’m so glad you liked Magic Under Glass! I haven’t really seen it around the blogosphere, and I read it when it came out a few years ago, it’s such a cute read, though! 😀

  5. These Broken Stars and the unbecoming of mara dyer are the two on this list I just have to read, I see them everywhere!! Hope I get a chance to read them in 2014. Great post! 🙂
