Della says OMG!

How did I get it?:
I bought it for the Luna’s Picks feature!

Synopsis:

Della’s over the moon when she kisses her long-standing crush at a party – but then she discovers her diary has disappeared…

When scans of embarrassing pages are sent to her mobile and appear on Facebook, Della’s distraught – how can she enjoy her first proper romance when someone, somewhere, knows all her deepest, darkest secrets?

Thoughts:

Luna’s Picks is a feature where my friend Luna picks some books for me to read. She’s always pestering me to read books, so I thought I’d endeavour to read 1-2 books a month. A book I picked from the selection and a book that my blog readers picked. This book won reader’s choice this month.

I was really looking forward to reading this book. It came at a brilliant time. I was suffering from a lot of bad books… before this one! I thoroughly enjoyed this book which didn’t take long to read at all. It was a perfect pick me up.

Keris Stainton has really portrayed teenagers perfectly. I thought Della was an incredibly relatable character. She felt real. Her thought processes were definitely thoughts that ran through my mind when I was a teenager. I loved her relationship with others. Her relationship with her older sister was honest and I loved how odd her parents were. I also thought Della’s relationship with Dan was cute and believable. I began to think I knew how the story was going to end, but I was wrong. I love that.

If I was to be really critical, I would’ve liked more mystery in the story, but that doesn’t affect my opinion of the book. I thought it was a well written, relatable, funny story which didn’t take long to read at all.

Would I recommend it?:
Of course!
