The Shock of The FallNathan Filer– This is the hardback cover. I know that the cover has changed for the paperback, but I remain firmly in love with this cover. It’s plain, it’s simple, it’s intriguing.

The MadnessAlison Rattle– I have a lot of love for this book, and a lot of love for the cover. I’ve noticed that the covers I’ve picked, in the main part are very simple. The cover of The Madness intrigued me. It uses some beautiful colours.

A Room Full Of Chocolate- Jane Elson– What I like about the cover is the shiny brown bit. It reminds me of an old school Galaxy wrapper. If you don’t know what Galaxy is, it’s a chocolate bar that had very shiny brown wrapping. I think some of the bigger bars still use the shiny brown! Very appealing. (A great story too!)

PointeBrandy Colbert– I’m obsessed with dance, and I just think this cover is plain and simple beautiful! I can’t wait to read this!

These Broken StarsAmie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner– A very pretty, sparkly cover. I like!

JasmynAlex Bell– This book should be well more known, and that’s not my bias as it’s one of my best friend’s books. It’s such a wonderful story with a beautiful cover. Ahh.

SisterRosamund Lupton–  Some people might think that this cover is boring, but I like it. It’s simple and atmospheric.

Splintered 12788061 15729302

SplinteredA.G Howard- Pretty, pretty book. I have the hardback edition and it’s just stunning!

Dance of ShadowsYelena Black– There goes another dance themed book. I adore this cover and really enjoyed this book!

Q: A Love StoryEvan Mandery– Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of the story inside, I really love this cover. I love the colours.

What covers would you frame as pieces of art? Do you judge a book by its cover? Let me know in the comments below! Feel free to leave your link to your Top Ten Posts and I’ll stop by soon!

  1. The Madness made my list, too! I absolutely adore it.
The cover for splintered is so unique and lovely, it would look gorgeous as an art print.
I also love the cover of Jasmyn and Pointe.
I definitely think that a book cover poster shop should open somewhere, haha 😀

    • I just love the colours used in The Madness. I love the story inside as well though. I think the cover for Splintered is one of the prettiest covers of books I own. I’m glad you love the cover of Jasmyn and Pointe. I love to drool over the cover of Jasmyn.
A book cover poster shop should DEFINITELY open up. I’d love that 😀

  2. Nice picks- these are all beautiful. Pointe, These Broken Stars, and A Room full of Chocolate are my favorites. I’m loving seeing all these great covers! I definitely judge a book by its cover, especially with debut novels. And it’s even more disappointing when the books don’t live up to their covers!

    • I think we can’t help but judge a book by its cover. You’re right though, it’s so disappointing when the story inside doesn’t match up to their amazing covers. I really adore the cover of Pointe. I haven’t read the book yet, but I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy! 🙂

  3. These Broken Stars has such a beautiful cover! I love Dance of Shadows’ cover too – I really need to get on with reading that. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I love the dance of shadows cover! Thanks for the recommendation, I’ve added it to my TBR list. I haven’t read many books about dancing (which is near to my heart as I used to be involved in it) and I’m excited to read this!

  5. Oh man, this is my favourite list so far! Obviously we have a similar taste in covers 🙂 I remember reading your review of A Room Full of Chocolate a while ago, and thinking I wanted to buy it – just because of the cover! I also really love The Shock of the Fall. LOVELY list! 😀

  6. The forced perspective on Nathan Filer’s cover is pretty cool. This reminds me to read his book–which I’ve heard only superb comments about. Maybe one day if you decide on “A Room Full of Chocolate” you should consider also making the book-art out of actual chocolate! A delicious project if I’ve ever heard of one… and with good reason to use edible materials too!

(and a quick response: I think I’m like 10/90 in terms of covers setting the initial contact but the synopsis making up for the bulk of my opinion on picking up the book or not.)

    joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts

  7. Nice choices, and I really like your explanations for why you chose them! If I had to pick one, I’d say A Room Full of Chocolate is my favorite — so different! (Plus, yummmm, chocolate!)

  8. Nice cover choices Chrissi!!! I especially love Jasmyn’s cover. I’ve never heard or seen it before so I’m happy to check it out! Splintered would of made my list if I had read the book but I was only choosing from the books I’ve read. I do however have it in my bookcase waiting for me to read, lol!!! Great list. Thanks for sharing!! 🙂

  9. You have some really beautiful and interesting book covers! I almost put These Broken Stars on my list just because the fabric of her dress is incredible. I agree with you on The Madness cover. I haven’t read it, but I love the color palette!

  10. Wow!!! The FALL and MADNESS covers are incredible!! I love the sort of misty quality they both have. And I adore the Dance of Shadows cover too. I haven’t read that yet, but I kind of just want to buy it so I can set the book out in a conspicuous place and stare at it! XD

  11. Oh my goodness, Chrissi. These are all amazing choices, and I haven’t seen a lot of them before! I absolutely love Jasmyn. I would blow that up to the biggest size possible and put it front and center in my house.

  12. Nice picks! Lots of wonderful and pretty covers. These Broken Stars made my list too, I seem to really love books with night skies on them. I love a starry sky on a cover, they are some of the prettiest you can find.

  13. Splintered~! I love the cover to that book. If I had read it I would’ve for sure included that one. I think the twitter account associated with your Disqus account is wrong. I went there and it went to come strange one!! FYI!

  14. I really love the cover for Dance of Shadows. The colours and the dress made out of rose petals. It’s lovely.
