I’m currently half way through It’s Kind Of A Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. It’s a story reflecting on a teenager’s time in a psychiatric hospital. It is based on the author’s experience of being hospitalised with depression. It’s so strange reading this book knowing that the author recently committed suicide.  It’s incredibly sad how depression can make the sufferer suicidal and actually cause death too.

What did you recently finish reading?

I’m thankful that my last read was quite a lighter summer read. Open Road Summer by Emery Lord had been recommended to me by so many people, and I finally managed to get around to it. My review will be coming up later today.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next read is my ‘Compare’ book with Luna from Luna’s Little Library. I have been looking forward to Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins for a while now, so hopefully I’ll finish my current book today so I can get on with this book!

What are you reading this week? Please feel free to leave your links or your answers in the comments section below and I’ll stop by your blog! Happy Reading! 🙂

  1. Oh yeah, I am hoping after the next few books I read through that I’ll be able to get to Rebel Belle and Prisoner of Night and Fog. They both sound wonderful. I can’t wait to see what you think. 🙂 Happy reading!

  2. I’ve been wanting to read It’s Kind of a Funny Story for a while – and I completely agree with you; it’ll be hard reading it knowing that the author struggled so much with depression himself to the point of suicide.

Can’t wait to read your review for Open Road Summer 🙂

Comments make me smile and I love to reply to them! Thanks for visiting today!
