Top Ten Books I Read In 2014

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they come up with a list for us to complete. This week the topic is Top Ten Books I Read In 2014. Ooh, this is going to be a tricky list, but with the help of Goodreads, I’m sure I can find books I’ve rated 5 stars this year! There are so much more than 10 amazing reads, but here are 10 of my favourites…So here goes…

The Girl Who Walked On Air Emma Carroll– I thought this was a beautiful book. It’s great for middle grade but also extends nicely to adult readers looking for a magical, fantastical read.

Prisoner of Night and Fog- Anne Blackman– This was an unexpected gem. I didn’t know much about the book until I requested it on Bookbridgr. I absolutely loved it and I’m eagerly anticipating beginning the next one!

Golden BoyAbigail Tarttelin– This probably comes as no surprise to regular readers of my blog. I include this book wherever I can as I thought it was a stunning, yet brutal read. I can’t recommend this book enough!

The MadnessAlison Rattle- Alison can do no wrong in my eyes. I’ve adored her books. They really capture my attention.

BirdCrystal Chan– This was another gem of the year. It was a wonderful book which I highly recommend!

The Wrong BoySuzy Zail- I think this book should be much more widely read. It’s stunning and emotional!

Something Real Heather Demetrios– Oh yes, this book appears on a Top Ten list again. Have I convinced you to read it yet?

A Monster CallsPatrick Ness– I may be very behind in reading this book, but I’m so glad I took the time to read it. It’s incredibly emotional, but well worth reading.

Ignite MeTahereh Mafi– I loved the conclusion to the Shatter Me trilogy, so it has to be featured on my top ten for 2014!

Shadow and BoneLeigh Bardugo– I can’t mention a top ten books of the year without mentioning the wonderful Leigh Bardugo. I powered through The Grisha Trilogy in the space of a few months. I loved it!
