Top Ten Books You Would Classify As ALL TIME FAVOURITE BOOKS

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely The Broke and The Bookish. Each week they come up with a list for us to complete. This week the topic are the ten books that we’d class as our all time favourite books within the last 3-5 years. This could be tricky…

In no particular order (with book images leading to Goodreads) here are the books that I picked!

Magic Under Glass (Magic Under, #1) The Sky is Everywhere

Magic Under Glass- Jackie Dolamore– I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this cute little book! I keep intending to pick up the next book in the series!

The Sky Is EverywhereJandy Nelson– A beautifully touching book.

The Ice Cream Girls Undone

The Ice Cream Girls- Dorothy Koomson– I devour everything that Dorothy Koomson writes. This was a particular favourite of mine.

UndoneCat Clarke– I was blown away by the ending.

Dangerous Girls Gone Girl

Dangerous GirlsAbigail Haas– I thought this book was amazing. Totally messed with my mind!

Gone GirlGillian Flynn– I know Gone Girl has its critics but I thought it was a great book with probably one of the characters I hate the most in literature!

A Monster Calls Something Real

A Monster CallsPatrick Ness– A simply beautiful, poignant book which really touched me.

Something RealHeather Demetrios– I loved this book. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Me Before You Golden Boy

Me Before You- Jojo Moyes– When I first thought about this list I was hoping that this book wasn’t more than 5 years old so I could include it. Regular readers of my blog will know how much I adore this book. It’s not what I expected. I didn’t expect it to still have such an impact on me years later, but it really does.

Golden BoyAbigail Tarttelin– This book crept up on me as well, but I’m glad I was encouraged to read it. Amazing!

What are your all time favourites from the last 3-5 years? Feel free to leave a link to your post and I’ll stop by! 🙂

  1. I loved Magic Under Glass! What a lovely book! I actually haven’t read the others on your list (even though most have been in my tbr for way too long). Hopefully I’ll get to read some of these soon. Great list!

  2. Dangerous Girls made my list too (I can’t wait to read Dangerous Boys!) I forgot about Gone Girl, it was definitely a compulsively readable book, and I loved how well it adapted to a film. Have you seen it yet?

  3. What a brilliant list Chrissi – I love Me Before You, Gone Girl and The Ice Cream Girls. I’d could easily add ten plus here but I choose The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell, a moving book that deals with issues but in such an accessible way.

  4. Gone Girl definitely had an impact even if it wasn’t my favorite. I was thinking about it for awhile afterwards, which I take as a sign of a good book!

  5. I can’t believe I forgot about A Monster calls, I just recently read Dangerous Girls and I think it’s one of my ne w faves.

  6. I’d really like to read The Sky is Everywhere — glad to see it made your list. A Monster Calls really beat up my heart, but I loved it. Do you know about the sequel to Me Before You? I’m excited to read it, but I’m also a bit nervous whenever I book I love has a sequel. Hopefully, it’ll be just as good as the first! Great list! 🙂

    • It really was a beautiful book. 🙂 My sister told me about the sequel to Me Before You. I’m really worried about it but I guess I shouldn’t be! Jojo Moyes is a talented author.

  7. I’ve just read Gone Girl and it blew my mind! I loved every minute of reading it, now I just want to read all the books of the author haha.
    Awesome list!

  8. I’d want to read most of those just because of the covers. 🙂 From your list, I have only read one, Gone Girl, which I really liked. I really want to read A Monster Calls. I read the Chaos Walking Trilogy and was blown away by it. I keep meaning to read Ness’s other work. Great list!

  9. Oh help, I haven’t read any of the books on your list! I did watch the movie of Gone Girl -which I highly enjoyed- but I haven’t read the book. Well, my to-read list is apparently getting a bit larger again! 😀

  10. Oh man, Gone Girl was so good! My first of the thriller genre. I want to read Dangerous Girls as well, I’m really intrigued by what everyone has said about it so far. And Me Before You destroyed me!! I’m excited for the movie, they chose amazing actors for the two characters. ❤ The Sky is Is Everywhere was such a good read as well, I chose I'll Give You The Sun for my list though!!

  11. Well, this is an amazing list, because pretty much every book you have on here is either on my TBR, OR I have read and loved. So yeah, this is a win! I cannot wait to read The Sky is Everywhere, Me Before You, and Something Real especially. OH and Golden Boy, which I actually think I added to my TBR from another list of yours 😉

    • 😀 Oh yay! I have used Golden Boy in my top ten lists before. It’s such an emotional and powerful book. I hope you enjoy all of the books that you’ve yet to read on this list!
