Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s list are the Last Ten Books That Came Into My Possession. I thought I’d list the books I’d purchased rather than review copies.
So here goes.. (book images go to Goodreads)
P.S I Still Love You- Jenny Han
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book, but I was certainly intrigued enough to pick up a copy of the next instalment!
Challenger Deep- Neal Shusterman
I am excited to read this book. I have heard that it is a powerful read dealing with mental illness.
Star Cursed- Jessica Spotswood
This is the second book in the Cahill Witch Chronicles series. I’ve already read it and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Linger- Maggie Stiefvater
I had really mixed feelings about Shiver, the first book in the series. I’m looking forward to reading this book, so I can sort out whether I like this series or not! (…as ridiculous as that sounds!)
For Holly- Tanya Byrne
I adore Tanya Byrne’s writing. Hopefully I can pick up this book very soon!
Remix- Non Pratt
I will be reading this book later this month as part of my ‘Comparing’ feature with Luna’s Little Library. Look out for our review later this month!
Dream A Little Dream- Giovanna Fletcher
I have already read and reviewed this book, which is a perfect summer read. Well worth exploring!
The Sun In Her Eyes- Paige Toon
Regular readers of my blog won’t be surprised to see Paige Toon’s latest adult book in this list. I love Paige Toon’s writing, and hope to get to read this book soon!
What My Mother Doesn’t Know- Sonya Sones
I reviewed this book several months back as part of my banned books feature with my sister, Beth!
Making Pretty- Cory Ann Haydu
This book is coming up for me soon. I’ve heard some very mixed things about it, so I look forward to seeing what I make of it!
Oooh, Dream a Little Dream sounds like a great summer read indeed! Could use some more light reading on my TBR queue, will keep a lookout for it 😉 Happy reading with the other books!
My TTT
Thanks Lianne! It’s definitely a lighter, summer read. Perfect for this season!
I read Shiver years ago and liked it but didn’t feel the need to continue with the rest of the series. I still think Maggie’s The Scorpio Races is her best book so far.
I’m definitely going to try out more of her books as I hear the Shiver books aren’t her best!
I have also read and very much enjoyed Star Cursed! I haven’t yet made it to the third and final entry, though– too many new books keep popping up and other earlier series are getting lost in the shuffle! I have Corey Ann Haydu’s Life by Committee on my TBR and that’s another one I have read mixed reviews on. We shall see! Thanks for stopping by my top ten 🙂
You’re very welcome! Thank you for the return visit! Hopefully we’ll both get to reading the third book soon.
Great haul. The Shiver series actually gets better, believe it or not. I only thought the first one was okay. The others were better though.
I’m glad to read that Cynthia! 🙂
Looking good. Happy reading Chrissi! 😀
Thank you! 😀
I really want to get P.S. I Still Love You because I really liked the first and Challenger Deep because I have heard amazing things. Enjoy them all!
Thanks Grace! 🙂 I’m really looking forward to getting to it soon. I didn’t enjoy the first one as much as I hoped I would, but I did have very high expectations.
I haven’t bought Challenger Deep yet, but I really want to read it because I loved the Unwind series by the same author and have been dying to read something else of his ever since I finished the last book. I liked the sound of this one in particular because I did schizophrenia as part of my psychology A-Level and found it really interesting so thought I might enjoy this book. I hope I get around to it soon!

I really hope you enjoy it! It does sound like a very important book to be read! 🙂
I keep seeing ‘For Holly’ cropping up on lists and I’m really curious now and want to pick it up! Great books, I really hope you enjoy them.
My TTT
Thank you! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it if you do decide to pick them up!
I really want to read the Cahill Witch Chronicles, the covers are great (although I have the alternative cover for book 1). I’m glad you enjoyed book 2, gives me the confidence to pick it up and read it soon!
Happy Reading
Rachel @ paein-and-ms4tune.co.uk
🙂 Thanks Rachel! I’m really enjoying the Cahill Witch Chronicles!
I read the Shiver series in middle school and enjoyed it back then, but I’m not sure if I would still enjoy it if I read it now. It’s decent, but I think there are a lot of other great fantasy-ish series out there- like Stiefvater’s Raven Boys series! Happy reading! 🙂
I definitely have the Raven Boys on my radar! 🙂 Thanks Holly!
Oh, I still need to get P.S. I Love You! I can’t wait to see what happens 🙂
Figners crossed that we both enjoy it!
Bah! I loved P.S. I Still Love You and Making Pretty so much! Also I can’t wait to get my hands on Challenger Deep.
Yay! I’m so pleased that you enjoyed them both. Gives me hope!
Ah the covers are so pretty! I haven’t read any Giovanna Fletcher as of yet, but I’ve been recommended it and I want to! Nice list!
Her books are fabulous! 🙂 Very feel good/easy to read books.
Great list! I can’t wait to read Challenger Deep, it looks amazing!
Thank you! 🙂 I am looking forward to it too!
ooh Starcursed looks good! Might just have to check that one out
my ttt: http://mommywantstoread.blogspot.com/2015/07/top-ten-tuesday-recently-acquired-books.html
🙂 It’s a fantastic series, well worth exploring!
Have you tried Maggie Stiefvater’s Lament and Ballard? They are my favourites out of all her books. I liked Shiver but felt the rest of the series got a bit repetitive. My TTT
I haven’t, Sue! I’m very open to trying them out though!
Glad to hear you enjoyed Dream A Little Dream! I downloaded it from NetGalley yesterday :).
My TTT
Yay! 🙂 I hope that you enjoy it!
I’ve heard lots of good things about Paige Toon, I think I’ll have to give her books a go soon!
They’re so fun! I highly recommend them!
Neil Shusterman’s Unwind series is undoubtedly going to feature as my favourite read of the year. I am 99.9% positive I am just not going to find something I find more powerful and engaging than it. I’ve heard great things of Challenger Deep and at this point I trust Shusterman unquestioningly so hopefully you love it too! (Although be forewarned – it IS Shusterman, so it is likely going to get pretty intense/horrifying at some point)
Yes! I’ve read some of the Unwind series and I completely agree he is quite intense!
Oh wow! These are amazing! Especially Challenger Deep 🙂
Have fun reading♥
Jumana @ Books by Jay
Thank you Jumana! 🙂
I liked PS I Still Love You ten times more than To All the Boys, if that helps!
I’m really looking forward to reading Challenger Deep this month. I’ve heard that it’s really intense, but so important.
That is very helpful. I trust your opinion too. I can’t wait to read Challenger Deep. I think it’s so important!
I somehow hadn’t heard of Challenger Deep before just now, but after reading the book blurb, it’s now a must-read on my to-read list. Hope you enjoy your reads!
That’s always great to read! 🙂 I’m always happy to highlight good/important/new books!
I haven’t read any of these but Challenger Deep has been on my radar lately. I see it all the time!! Maybe I’ll need to check it out…
Here are my Top Ten!
I think it’s a really important subject to read about! I hope you enjoy it if you do decide to check it out.
Challenger Deep sounds really interesting, I actually only heard of it recently. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think.
Thanks Alicia! I hope to read it really soon. 🙂
I recently got Challenger Deep from the library so I’ll be reading it soon! It sounds so excellent.
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
It definitely sounds like an important subject to be discussed! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it too!
I really enjoyed The Wolves of Mercy Falls, though it’s definitely not for everyone. I hope you’ll be able to sort out your feelings for the series while reading Linger.
Thank you Veronika! 🙂
Great list, Chrissi! I have yet to read any Maggie Stiefvater and Neal Shusterman, which I need to change, and I’m hoping to read To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before soon. 🙂 I hope you enjoy all of these!
Thanks Jess. I hope you like them too!
I still need to read Jenny Han’s books. They look so cute!
They are adorable!
I agree, Neil Shusterman sounds very interesting! I know of some of the other authors, but most of them are new to me
🙂 Thanks!
I need to get to PS I Still Love You soon!! I’m really slacking! Also would like to read Making Pretty… it sounds really good. Thanks for stopping by my list 🙂
You’re welcome Michelle! Thanks for the return visit. I really hope you enjoy the books you mentioned!
I’ve read Challenger Deep and really liked it, so I hope you end up enjoying it too! It’s very different, but like a good kind of different. And it’s very eye opening!
I really like the sound of it. It sounds like it’s a very important book to read!
I’m interested in hearing what you think about Linger! I have such mixed feelings about that series, but I adore how beautiful the writing is. Have you read anything else by Stiefvater?
I haven’t yet! I really hope to soon though!
I hope that you end up liking Linger. It wasn’t the best book but it was entertaining. I haven’t read the other books on your list except for PSISLY which was great. Happy reading!
Challenger Deep sounds like it will be really good.
I understand what you mean about reading a second book in a series before deciding if it’s a series for you. Unless I hate the first book, I try to give a series I’m on the fence about a couple tries more before deciding officially whether I want to continue reading it or not.
Definitely! I feel exactly the same way.
