I have to admit, I wasn’t very inspired by this week’s Six Who Made Their Way Into The World. It was an okay fairy tale, but it didn’t really grip me.
It centres around a solider who is discharged from the army. He is not paid properly for his time in the army, so he vows to seek revenge. The soldier gathers people with extraordinary skills to help him out, including a really strong man, a man with amazing vision etc. etc. The soldier and his new found army of his own, go the king’s city. The king has declared that anyone that can win a race against his daughter can marry her. What is it with these fairy tale Kings and marrying their daughters off!? There is a catch though. Of course, there has to be! Any losers will be decapitated. The men are strong and it’s hard for the king to kill them off, so instead he offers them as much gold as they can carry.
As I mentioned, I wasn’t blown away by this story. It’s not one of the most memorable, but it’s an okay read!
