Welcome to the last stop on the blog tour for Emer Stamp’s The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig, which is a cute middle grade series.
Emer Stamp is the author and illustrator of The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig. Emer grew up on a farm in Devon before training in graphic design and working for some of London’s top advertising agencies. She was the Creative Director for the Adam and Eve DDB communications agency, which creates advertisements for clients including John Lewis, Halifax, Cadbury’s and Save the Children. She lives in London.
We love Pig , but Pig loves Farmer. After all, Farmer gives Pig yummy slops and special back scratches, and calls him Sausage and seems to love him more, the fatter he gets. Just as well Pig doesn’t speak any Farmer. But Duck does (Duck’s clever like that), and he’s determined his best friend should know the truth.
I decided to read this book to see if it would be suitable for my class to devour. They’d definitely find it a hilarious read and I’ll certainly put copies of this series in my revamped book area. It’s entertaining and will capture the heart of many children. Pig is a lovable character, who I’m sure children will adore.
This book is definitely aimed at young children. It has so much within it that children will adore. It’s funny and silly. It also mentions farts within the first couple of pages. I can imagine reading this to my class and them being in hysterics!
The story is fast paced and action packed. It’s a little crazy, but in a GOOD way. I can’t wait to see the reaction of my class to these books!
Pig’s story continues in the next two books!
