This quirky little fairy tale is also known as Mother Elderberry. It’s a strange little tale about a little boy who catches a cold. A neighbour comes to by to tell him a story whilst his mother makes him some elder tea. The boy dreams (or does he hallucinate?) about an elder tree coming out of the teapot. The neighbour tells a story to go with the elder tree growing out of the tea. It’s a story about companionship and memory. It’s certainly an odd tale from Hans Christian Andersen, but I found it to be an enjoyable read!
