Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. For this week’s list we are listing books that have been on our to be read piles for a long time…I’ve decided to look at some of the books on my kindle as I’m forever forgetting about reading those. Oh the shame…
Book images go to Goodreads
Sharp Objects- Gillian Flynn
I can’t wait to read more from Gillian Flynn. I’m not sure why this book and the next one have been on my kindle for so long without being read!
Dark Places- Gillian Flynn
I must get around to this one at some point too…
Magic Under Stone- Jaclyn Dolamore
I adored the first book, so goodness knows why this one is still lying unread!
Tarnished- Julia Crouch
I really enjoy Julia Crouch’s writing. I love a thriller. So I should love this? I hope!
Soulmates- Holly Bourne
I have heard so many wonderful things about this book. I hope to get to it sometime soon!
Something Like Normal- Trish Doller
I have been meaning to read this book for ages. It’s been on my kindle for what feels like years… One day!
The Crane Wife- Patrick Ness
I adore Patrick Ness, yet haven’t got around to reading this book yet. Where are my priorities?!
Butter- Erin Lange
I have had this book since I started book blogging but still haven’t got around to it. Oops.
The Last Anniversary- Liane Moriarty
This book is a newer edition to my kindle (I say newer, it’s 2 years old!) but I’m still surprised I haven’t read it yet!
A History of Loneliness- John Boyne
I love John Boyne’s writing. I am intrigued by the synopsis of this book. I hope to read it soon!
I have just added Butter to my TBR 🙂 it’s amazing how many books we acquire and then don’t read … !!
I completely agree Lauren! The dangers of being a book blogger!
Right!! I am looking through the books I have at the moment to create my own post, and I’m like… where did you come from?!?
I heard great things about all of Holly Bourne books, I can’t wait to try one of her books as well 🙂 GReat list!
I’ve only read Am I Normal Yet? and I really enjoyed that one! Fingers crossed that I get around to it soon!
Those two Gillian Flynn books sat on my TBR list forever before I finally got around to them as well. Good reads though so I hope you enjoy them 🙂
I’m glad that you enjoyed them!
The Crane Wife is such a lovely book. It’s not my favorite book by Patrick Ness, but it’s still a worthwhile read.
Great list! 🙂
I shall definitely try to prioritise it soon then!
Gillian Flynn’s books are on my shelves but I haven’t picked any yet!
😀 I only read Gone Girl a few years back. I need to get to the others.
Gillian Flynn’s books are definitely books I need to read soon. I’ve not even read Gone Girl but I have all three on my shelf! I like the look of something like normal. Hope you get to read these sooner rather than later.
Happy Reading
Rachel @ Paein-and-Ms4Tune
Thank you Rachel. I should really prioritise these…
I have that Liane Moriarty book on my shelf too, as well as another of her earlier books. I really should make time for them!
There’s just too many good books out there to explore. The struggles of a bookworm!
I totally recommend both the Gillian Flynn books!! Sharp Objects was my fave though… I liked it even more than Gone Girl. I can’t wait until she writes something new— who knows what else is in that messed up brain of hers 🙂
Ha, you’re so right Michelle! I might try and read Sharp Objects within the next week!
I haven’t heard of any of these tbh! I love this week’s TTT theme though, I think I’ll give it a go tonight 🙂
I have that with many lists! 😀
I have the first Magic Under book on my TBR, I didn’t even know there was a sequel! So many books, so little time…
That’s the truth!
These are new to me! Butter looks like a good read but I’m sure I’d procrastinate it too. It seems like something you’d want to read in the right headspace. Great list! 🙂
Definitely. I will get to it… eventually! (I hope!)
So I actually liked the two Gillian Flynn books you have listed here better than I liked Gone Girl. I hope you get to read them soon and love them!
My TTT
Ooh that’s interesting! I’ll try and read them soon.
I’ve been meaning to read Butter for a long time too. I totally forgot about that until right now.
A common struggle! 😀
I really enjoyed Something Like Normal. There’s just something about military men and their stories that pulls me in. 😀
Argh! I’ll try to prioritise it!
I haven’t read any of these but some of them look so good!
Lynn 😀
Thanks Lynn! I hope so!
I read Dark Places and enjoyed it, though it creeped me out a little. Okay a lot, because I was so creeped out, I still haven’t read Sharp Objects yet.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/23/top-ten-tuesday-71/
Ooh. I think I like the idea of it being really creepy. Can’t wait to read them both!
🙂
Ah, yes! Gillian Flynn’s novels are on my TBR shelf too–and have been for awhile. I really liked Gone Girl. Not sure why I haven’t read her other books. I really enjoyed Liane Moriarty’s book that I read (although it wasn’t that one). I keep meaning to try something else by her.
I didn’t participate this week, but I know I would have trouble deciding which ten to highlight. I have so many! I probably have forgotten some that are there . . .
I really must get around to reading Gillian’s other books. From the sounds of it from other bloggers, they’re well worth reading!
Nice list of books!!
Here’s a link to my TTT post this week:http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2016/08/top-ten-tuesday-ten-books-that-have.html
Thank you Lisa!
I haven’t read The Crane Wife either. This is terrible as I am a big Patrick Ness fan. I must get my hands on a library copy soon.
I know. I call myself a big Patrick Ness fan and I’ve missed a book! Eek!
Ooooooh, Gillian Flynn! I just finished Gone Girl, and I have those ones as well on my TBR. I enjoy thriller as well, so I’m going to look for one of Julia Crouch’s books at my library. Thanks for the recommendation!
You’re very welcome Darlene! I recommend Cuckoo by Julia Crouch!
Those two by Flynn are excellent! Happy reading!
Check out my TTT.
Ahhhh. I must get to them!
I loved Gillian Flynns other books. The Dark Places movie on Amazon is also really well done.
I hope you get around to them soon!
MUST prioritise them. Thanks Megan.
Okay you need to read both of the Gillian Flynn books. I think Sharp Objects is my favorite. I love all of her books. They are so dark and twisted. I agree with another commenter that they may just be better than Gone Girl. I also have had Last Anniversary on my TBR for way too long. It’s sitting on my Kindle now, just waiting to be read. I don’t know what my problem is. Oh yeah, WAY TOO MANY BOOKS! Ha.
Okay, I’m definitely going to read them next week! Too many people are saying I need them and I’m all excited now 😀
Gillian is one of my favorite authors, don’t miss them 😍
Consider them prioritised in my reading schedule! 😀
