Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. For this week’s list it’s all about the villains! I loved putting this list together. I love a bookish villain!
Voldemort and Dolores Umbridge- Harry Potter
Voldemort has to be one of the ultimate villains in children’s literature. He’s so evil, I love to hate him. Dolores Umbridge also drove me mad but I loved it. J.K. Rowling sure knows how to write a villain!
Miss Trunchbull- Matilda
I used to be terrified of Miss Trunchbull when I was younger. She scared my class too, but they loved it at the same time.
The Grand High Witch- The Witches
The Grand High Witch is such a fantastic character. I really wanted to read this book to my last class but I think it would have scared them.
Amy- Gone Girl
Amy is a messed up character. She freaked me but I LOVED it.
The White Witch- The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Ooh, The White Witch was evil and powerful. Loved to read about her.
Mrs Danvers- Rebecca
I found Mrs Danvers to be so creepy. She got under my skin.
Queen Levana- The Lunar Chronicles
Love Queen Levana. I felt like Fairest helped to get to know the character more. I think she’s a fantastic villain.
President Snow- The Hunger Games
You have to have a great villain in a series like The Hunger Games. I think President Snow was a perfect villain.
Ty- Stolen
Ty got under my skin because he was so awful yet somehow you ended up feeling sorry for him? How does that work!?
Snow is terrible! Nuff said ha ha. And Amy- I want to read Gone Girl, I’ve heard so much about the twist. I imagine it’s a doozy. The White Witch is nasty- I thought Tilda Swinton killed it in the movie version.
It is so worth reading. I adore Gone Girl! 🙂 I agree with you about The White Witch.
We have many of the same villains. People we love to hate.
😀 I do love to hate a villain.
*gasp* How did I forget the Queen from Narnia!? And I adore that series so much. I’ve heard the “Gone Girl” story is freaky, but never did watch or read it.
Thanks so much, as always, for visiting Finding Wonderland, Chrissi.
It really misses with your head. Thanks for the return visit, Rissi!
I have Levana and Umbridge too on my list.
Oh my, Trunchbull was terrifying. 😀
She really was! She still scares me.
I forgot all about Amy but yap, she is one of the vilest villains. She made the book so memorable though.
She really does! I always think of her when I think of thrillers.
Amy CREEPED ME OUT! She took psycho to a whole new level! I also loved Voldemort! 😀
Totally agree! 😀
Great list! We share Voldemort, Umbridge and Snow this week! But I definitely agree that Trunchbull is a fantastic villain. She still terrifies me!
My TTT
Same!! Scary lady.
President Snow is such a great villain! How did I manage to forget him? He’s so manipulative and sneaky, especially when he tries to pit Katniss and Peeta against each other. It’s the really clever villains that you have to watch out for!
They really are the worst kind of villains!
Amy! I forgot about Gone Girl, but she is so villainous. And psychotic.
Here’s my TTT: https://4thhouseontheleft.wordpress.com/2016/10/04/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-book-villains/
Psychotic- definitely! 😀
Snow and Levana made my list too!
TTT @ Krista’s Dust Jacket
Both very good villains! 😀
I haven’t read Gone Girl, only watched the film, but I totally agree with you on Amy. She is so so evil! I mean, I know that no one in that film is actually good, but she is just evil on another level!
Queen Levana made my list this week too, like you I loved reading Fairest and finding out more about her and her past. I wis we could get a book like that about Snow!
My TTT
She really is evil. Psychotic! It would be interesting to have one about Snow! So interesting!
Great list! We have several entries in common. Levana didn’t make my list as I’ve just started reading the Lunar Chronicles but I can already tell she’s going to be one of those characters I love to hate, haha. My TTT
She’s such a great character! I can’t wait for you to read more about her.
I would never have thought of Mrs. Danvers, but she is the ultimate villain!
Thank you! She really is!
Amy is such a fun choice for this topic! She’s so sneaky and calculated.
My TTT.
She really is. A horrific villain!
Miss Trunchbull!! Yes lol, she is such a good villain, love it!
😀 Thanks!
Great list. I should have thought to put Amy on my list as well. That is probably the only book I’ve ever angrily thrown across the room at the end.
Thank you. Amy is evil!
Miss Trunchbull is a great choice! She is such a creep!
Great Top Ten 😀 My Top Ten Tuesday!
Thank you! I love to hate her.
Ty made me feel like I had Stockholm Syndrome. He was definitely the villain, and yet by the end I wanted him to escape!
It’s such a strange feeling!
Voldie, Umbridge, Trunchbull, The Grand High Witch and President Snow are excellent choices!
Thanks Nicole!
Great list! I love Rebecca and definitely should have included Mrs. Danvers. Amy from Gone Girl and President Snow are great choices as well.
My TTT: http://jacquesbooknook.blogspot.com/2016/10/top-ten-tuesday-most-hated-villains.html
Thank you Jacque. I feel like I had to include them.
Amy from Gone Girl is perfect for a list like this. She’s so evil and yet so creative. Can you admire a villain?
Ha, interesting question… I know exactly what you mean though. She is incredibly calculated which we have to admire really.
We have quite a few in common! I looooove that you have Amy on your list! She was pretty vile…but almost everyone in the book was lol. I loved The Witches movie when I was a kid. I haven’t read the book, but maybe I can read it with my boy when they get older.
My Top Ten
You so should! 🙂 It’s such a great book but does have its scary moments.
The Grand High Witch! Yeeeees. She was one of my favorite villains when I was a kid, because I adored that book. She’s just so devious and whimsical! Snow, Umbridge, and the White Witch were narrow exclusions from my list, only because I ran out of space. Snow and Umbridge are both compellingly psychopathic in different ways, and the White Witch has that grandiose flair that makes for a memorable baddie.

Sarcasm & Lemons
😀 Glad you approve of my awful villains.
Mrs. Danvers is SO creepy! She’s a really choice. I’d love to get some of her backstory.
Me too. I don’t feel like we know a lot about her!
Nooooo NOT UMBRIDGE! I hated her so much! Definitely no love to hate there for me! XD Great list!
Here are my Top Ten!
Haha. I hated her, but loved to hate her!
Umbridge!!! Hated her so much. She just gets under your skin all the time. Rowling really does know her villains.
Oh she is fantastic at writing villains!
Great list!

She’s amazing!
Tilda Swinton was such a great White Witch.
I agree!
I love each and all those villains . . . mainly because they are all just so evil. Great list!
