This week’s fairy tale was a short one that I’d never heard of before. It centres around a dead man. Yes, you read that right. A dead man. The dead man was going to be buried that afternoon. No one really cared about him. His face was covered and on top was a book filled with blotting paper and withered flowers which he wanted to be buried with him.
It was said that the man used to be all about learning until something happened to him and made him turn to drink. When he ruined his health, he was brought to the country and looked after. The flowers represented different periods of the man’s life.
The fairy tale is quite odd and quirky, but really it’s discussing reflecting on our life and looking back to what meant a lot to us.
