A Week In The Life Of A Primary School Teacher- I secretly missed them!

Every Sunday (hopefully) I shall be posting a personal post about my life as a primary school teacher. I currently work at a primary school teaching Lower Key Stage 2. My training posts on this subject were really successful and so therapeutic for me, therefore I’ve decided to continue posting on the topic. I will not be naming any children, or the school where I work. If personal posts aren’t your thing then feel free to skip these posts. I won’t mind! Bookish goodness returns as normal Monday-Saturday!

I don’t think I’ve made any secret of the fact that I’ve found my current class a lot more challenging than my first class, but I think we’ve finally got that bond because over the Christmas holidays I did miss them! Shock horror! (I joke about the shock horror, I do adore them!) It was great to see their faces this week and get back to our learning. They seem really excited about being back at school and many of them said they missed me! (Sweet!)

My plan for this term is to really crack on with their reading comprehension. Many of them are fantastic readers, but they don’t always understand what it is they’re actually reading! So I’m going to put a focus on reading comprehension this term. Let’s see if it works!

We’re reading Around The World In 80 Days as our book in English for our topic and carrying on with our class book Billionaire Boy. My class enjoy being read to…which makes me VERY happy. I really am trying to make every class I teach into bookworms.
