This week I read The Jewish Girl which is also known as The Servant. It centres around a little Jewish girl who attends a Christian school. The girl is intrigued by the Christian teachings but because of her dead mother’s wishes cannot convert to Christianity. Later on, the girl works as a servant for a Christian family and is still drawn to Christianity. The girl works so hard for the Christian family. She works herself to death. As the girl is Jewish, she can’t be buried on hollow ground, but finds the sun still shines on her.
This was a short and sad little tale but it’s very interesting nevertheless!
