Ten Books I Meant To Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. This week is the last week that Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and The Bookish and I just want to thank them for hosting for so long. It really is a commitment and I’ll always be grateful to them for introducing me to so many blogs and in turn, so many books. Thank you ladies!

This week’s list is all about those books that we meant to read in 2017 but never got around to them. There are a few of these and most of them were debuts! It’s my goal this year to read more debut authors, so I’ve focused mainly on 2017 debuts.

A List of Cages

I was so excited about this book in 2016 when I heard about it, so goodness knows why I hadn’t read it yet. I’m hoping to read it ASAP!

Seven Days of You

I am excited that this is based in Tokyo. I don’t think I’ve read anything set there before. It looks like a fab contemporary read.

The Education of Margot Sánchez

This is another one that I had on my radar and never got around to!

The Disappearances

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this book that it’s definitely become a priority for me to read in 2018.

It Started With Goodbye

Although I’ve heard mixed things about this book, I want to give it a try.

Girl Out of Water

I’m intrigued by the premise of this book and I’ve heard some good things.

The Hundred Lies of Lizzie Lovett

I feel like this book was everywhere recently, yet I still didn’t get around to reading it! Sums me up really…

The Hidden Memory of Objects

I’m excited about this book. I want to read it ASAP! Love that cover.

Caraval (Caraval, #1)

I’m excited but nervous about this book. I’m worried the hype monster will get me.

Gilded Cage (Dark Gifts, #1)

I want to get around to this book in 2018. I bought it a year ago!

What do you intend to read in 2018? Let me know. Feel free to leave a link to your post and I’ll stop by!

  1. ‘Goodbye’ is one I *really* wanted to read too! 2018 will have to be THE year (and that cover is adorable); ‘Objects,’ as I remember is one I thought sounded really colorful and unique; and of course, with the hype surrounding its release, “Caraval” is one I’m really looking forward to reading. 🙂

  2. Caraval was one of the 2017 releases I made sure to read. How could I say no to that cover and synopsis? It didn’t quite live up to the hype for me, but I am very excited about the sequel coming out this year!

  3. I’ve read a couple of these. I enjoyed Caraval although it has mixed reviews. Gilded Cage didn’t quite work out for me but again – this one had good reviews. Hope you enjoy them.
    Lynn 😀

  4. I haven’t read ANY of these books, but I intended to get to all of them in 2017. I’d actually completely forgotten about Lizzie Lovett and Girl Out Of Water, so thank you for reminding me about them.

You can check out my Top Ten Tuesday here.

  5. Caraval didn’t make my list, but that’s another one I would like to get to this year. So many books I want to read! It’s impossible to get to them all. At least it feels that way sometimes. I hope you made all of these this year and enjoy them.

  6. Gilded Cage was one of my favourite books of 2017, and I thought the sequel Tarnished City was even better. I can’t wait for the final book in the trilogy to come out this year.

Comments make me smile and I love to reply to them! Thanks for visiting today!
