Every Sunday (hopefully) I shall be posting a personal post about my life as a primary school teacher. I currently work at a primary school teaching Year 2 (6-7 year olds). My training posts on this subject were really successful and so therapeutic for me, therefore I’ve decided to continue posting on the topic. I will not be naming any children, or the school where I work. If personal posts aren’t your thing then feel free to skip these posts. I won’t mind! Bookish goodness returns as normal Monday-Saturday!
This post is totally coming to you much later on a Sunday and that is down to 5 little ducklings…
At the beginning of this year, I decided that it would be a great idea for my class and parallel classes to hatch ducklings. It was a great idea. The children are absolutely loving it. I’ve had to take them home for the weekend as it was my bright idea. Ha! I have spent the weekend being completely absorbed by them. I have barely done any reading. I’m more interested in them! 🙂 The company we used is totally ethical and we think some parents might buy the little ones anyway so that makes me happy.
I have really enjoyed sharing the experience with the children. They have loved caring for them and we have 5 more days of fun with the little ones. I think they’ve learned so much through this experience. It really has been a pleasure to see them learn so much through this.
I’m also really pleased with how other ‘projects’ of mine are going in the school. 🙂 All in all a very successful week workwise.
