Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It’s all about love of lists, love of literature and bringing bookish people together.
This week’s topic is a Top Ten Freebie to do with Back To School. Confession. I schedule these posts in advance and when I wrote this post it was the first day of my Summer holidays. Ha! Really strange to think about going back to school! When this post is published I’m back to work on Monday! Argh…
Here are 10 books that I hope to read to my class this year. My class will between 7-9 years old.
I have read this book before last time I was in Year 3/4. It’s quite heavy going at points, but it’s a good one for a Stone Age/Bronze Age topic.
I think there are so many good picture books out there for older children, so I’m going to try and slip in a few when I can.
I’ve never read this, so I’m intrigued to read it to my class.
This book is the first one that my class have picked to read as a class book. I’m so excited to explore it with them. I think it’s important that as a class we read for pleasure!
This is going to be great for quieter children. I think it’s going to be a great talking point.
I am intrigued to try short stories! Children love funny stories so fingers crossed for these ones!
Here’s another picture book that I can’t wait to explore!
I have enjoyed Anthony Browne’s work before, so I’m intrigued to see this one.
I have heard such good things about this book! 🙂 I’m looking forward to reading it!
This book very nearly won our vote, so I’m hopefully going to get around to reading it!
What have you done for the freebie this week? Feel free to leave a link to your post and I’ll stop by!
Hope you and your class enjoy all of these, Chrissi!! 🙂 Happy Top Ten Tuesday.
Thank you Rissi! Here’s hoping! 🙂
My son (and husband) read the Mr Gum series together and loved it.
Great to know! My new class are very boy heavy so I need to be clever with text selection.
Good luck 😉
These all look nice but I especially like the look of the Treehouse one! That just looks fun.
Thanks Greg! 🙂 I’m super excited to read that one to them. It’s already on my desk waiting for them!
The 13 Storey Tree house is a really fun book.
I can’t wait to read it to them. I’ve never read it so it’ll be a fun experience for me too.
Great list, Chrissi! I hope your class enjoy all of these, it’s clear that you put a lot of thought into choosing them. 🙂
Thank you! I’m hoping they’re happy with my choices!
These are adorable — and I think Andy Griffith is Australian?! I hope the kids enjoy this!
Thanks! 🙂 Yes, I believe he is! Yay for Australian authors!

They certainly do love to laugh! Thanks for the return visit.

I schedule my posts too, as its way easier to do a bunch of them all at once and not have to worry about it on the day, which just happens to be my busiest day of the week. Love the list, you have some cute reads on it.
I totally agree! Scheduling is the way forward!
These all look so fun! I wish I got to read these kinds of books when I was in school, I hope you have a great time reading them with your class! 🙂
