Top Ten Shows/Movies To Binge Watch

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It’s all about love of lists, love of literature and bringing bookish people together.

Today’s list is all about those shows or movies that are great to binge watch. I struggled with this topic because I don’t watch a lot of TV/movies. I’d rather be reading! So here are some shows that I have binge watched and enjoyed along with some feel-good movies that always bring a smile to my face.

TV Shows

  1. Thirteen Reasons Why- I binge watched the first and second season. Not in one go, but definitely a few episodes a day/night!
  2. Gilmore Girls- I was late to the party for this one. I managed to watch all seasons though in a few months. That was good binge watching material!
  3. Gossip Girl- I came to Gossip Girl a few seasons in and I binge watched the first few seasons.
  4. The O.C.- I remember binge watching the first season… then I had to wait for the rest of them on TV!
  5. Friends- If I don’t know what to watch, I know I’ll find an episode that will fit my mood!

  1. The Greatest Showman- A recent love! I absolutely adore this movie. The soundtrack is phenomenal. It’s one of the only movies that I’ve seen multiple times at the cinema.
  2. Matilda- I adored this movie and it’s one of my favourite feel-good choices when I need a pick me up!
  3. Grease- I have lost track of how many times I’ve watched this musical movie!
  4. Mean Girls- One of my favourites!
  5. The Lion King- I had to shove some Disney in. This movie makes me very happy.

What have you got on your list this week? Feel free to leave a link to your post and I’ll stop by!

  1. I was super late to the Gilmore Girls party too, but I loved it! It’s such a happy, bingeable show – now I just need to watch the new Netflix additions! 🙂

  2. How could I leave out Grease?! Every time that or Dirty Dancing come on, I have to watch. I need to get back to The Gilmore Girls. I have only seen a handful of episodes and I can’t say I was loving it, but I want to give it more of a chance.

  3. Oh how I loved O.C. I binge-watched it in Uni. Gossip Girl is another series that I ended up binge-watching since I started watching it when it was already complete. I should have included it on my list. Love Gilmore Girls too. Great list!

  4. Great list, Chrissi! I love The Lion King and Friends is such a comforting one, isn’t it? I know what you mean – sometimes if I just need some background noise I’ll stick on an episode of Friends. 🙂

  5. Amazing list! I’ve watched and loved a lot of the shows/movies you mentioned! Mean Girls, Gossip Girl, and Friends are some of my favourites! I really need to find some time to binge-watch Gilmore Girls, it looks like my cup of tea 🙂

  6. The OC is such a throwback to my teen years. I remember binge-watching that show from start to finish and loved it. Friends is a timeless classic. I’ve still not seen the Greatest Showman yet, but I’ve blasted the soundtrack so many times now. Lion King will forever be one of my all time favourites.

  7. Gilmore Girls!! Such a great show. Friends is a show that I just watch over and over. They run the episodes on tv like all day long. I just flip to it and watch a few. Grease is one of the best movies ever! 🙂

  8. I binged all of 13 Reasons Why as well. Great production, but a little overwhelming emotionally when watched all in a row like that. I really need to watch Gilmore Girls! I feel like I really missed out. I love the Lion King!

  9. I loved Gilmore Girls on its original run…..I’m curious now if it’d hold up for me. Sometimes now that I’m about Lorelei’s age, she frustrates me rather than me finding her amazing haha. Friends is always good to pick up at any time and The Lion King is one of my fave movies. Good choices!

  10. The only movie on your list this week I haven’t seen is the Greatest Showman, but I agree with all the rest. Matilda is one I do often, Grease and the Lion Kings soundtrack are always playing in my head, and mean girls is just so fun!
