Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It’s all about love of lists, love of literature and bringing bookish people together.
This week we are thinking about audio of any kind. Since I don’t listen to audiobooks, I decided to think about my favourite songs from musicals… my other passion.
In no particular order, here they are!
- Defying Gravity– Wicked
- No Good Deed– Wicked
- So Much Better– Legally Blonde
- A Pharaoh’s Story– Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
- The Music Of The Night– Phantom Of The Opera
- Don’t Rain On My Parade– Funny Girl
- Circle Of Life– The Lion King
- On My Own– Les Miserables
- Almost Paradise– Footloose
- I Know It’s Today- Shrek
Great idea! I’m listing my favourite audiobook narrators. I’ll come back with my link when the post is up.
Look forward to it!
Ooh cool idea! Circle of Life :):)
Such a powerful song ❤
Great list, Chrissi! I love musicals and 100% agree with you about Circle of Life – The Lion King was the first musical I saw and it’s still my favourite. 😀
It’s so special ❤
Okay, now you have me belting out Circle of Life in my head bc I LOVE that movie!
It’s incredible!
The Lion King had a great soundtrack. I’m hoping the remake is just as good.
This is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Ooh I hope so too!
I LOVE musicals. My favorite is RENT, so I’m a big fan of those songs. Love “On My Own” and “Defying Gravity” from your list.

Fantastic list!!
Thank you! 🙂
Phantom of the Opera was such a great musical.
My Top Ten Tuesday post.
I completely agree!
This is such a good twist and I am such a musical geek. Music of the Night is fantastic.
Thanks Melanie! I can’t resist a musical!
I love musicals too! Some of my favorite songs are Sunrise from In the Heights, Push Me Higher from Allegiance, and For Good from Wicked! This week I did a list of songs that remind me of books. It was kind of challenging but in a good way!
Aw For Good is a beautiful song! ❤
Did you listen to the 15th Wicked anniversary version? CHILLS, I tell you. It’s so good.
I did! It’s stunning!
Oooo, nice list!! I am an avid audiobook listener and almost enjoy listening to audiobooks more than reading books.

I just need to get into audiobooks, I think1
I love the song Almost Paradise. My daughter is really into Hamilton. If they ever come to Denver we’re going.
I love Circle of Life ❤
On My Own is my jam, but I’m also participial to One Day More from Les Miserables.
Wow, I can’t spell partial.
This is such a great idea! I might miss songs of some of my favorite musicals though. 😉 (Grease, The Sound Of Music, The Great Showman among others)
The Lion King is one of my absolute favorite musicals! I’ve seen it twice!
I’m not a big watcher/listener of musicals but I do love the twist on today’s topic!
🙂 Thank you!
Omg! Great topic!!! defying Gravity is one is the BEST! I saw Wicked on Broadway last year and that song gave me all the feels, listening live!!
❤ It's such a stunning song.
I love The Circle of Life from the Lion King, too! I also used music in my Top Ten Tuesday post. https://ddominikwicklesromance.wordpress.com/2019/03/26/ttt-top-10-romantic-songs/
🙂 I shall take a look!
Defying Gravity and Don’t Rain On My Parade are a couple of my favorites too. 🙂

❤ Thank you!
Defying Gravity! I love that song ❤
❤ It's amazing!
I really like most of the music from the new “Footloose.” Plus, the film is just so good, happy-go-lucky and fun, too. 🙂 Thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit last week, Chrissi. I appreciate it.
Thanks Rissi! I appreciate the return visit!
I haven’t ventured out too far into musicals but I recognize a lot of these! What a great list! 😀 I recently got into Heather’s: The Musical and that’s been a lot of fun.
