The Kidnapping of Christina Lattimore

How did I get it?:
Given to me by the lovely Luna’s Little Library

She spots the masked man in the dark, lonely parking lot–but too late. Grabbed and drugged, Christina is kidnapped and held for ransom. When her family pays, she thinks her ordeal is over. But then she realizes that her family thinks she planned the kidnapping! How will Christina prove her innocence?

I thought this book was a decent read which was very easy to read. I don’t think it is overly remarkable or memorable. It’s about a girl from a rich family, who is kidnapped and then her kidnapping is made to look like she framed it, to get money from her rather wealthy grandmother.

My overall thoughts of this book is that it is an interesting read, although it’s not very believable. I think the most exciting element of this book was the kidnapping. I wish there was more about this in the story. It felt to me like it focused more on Christina protesting her innocence rather than the kidnapping.

The writing was good. There was a nice balance of descriptive writing and action packed scenes. It didn’t take me long to read at all. I think the characters were good, but not necessarily strong, memorable characters.

I know it probably sounds like I didn’t enjoy this book, but that’s not the case. I did. I just didn’t find it captivating. I would recommend this book to fans of the Young adult genre, but not if you read a lot of mystery/thriller books. I think because I’m such a fan of that genre I was left a little bit disappointed by this particular read.

Would I recommend it?:
