 -Unwind Dystology-

Unwind (Unwind, #1)Unwholly (Unwind, #2)UnSouled (Unwind, #3)

This one surprised me. I didn’t really enjoy Unwholly, so don’t want to read the rest. A shame!

-The Darkest Minds-

In 2016, I shall continue to conquer my series. Look at the page HERE for series I am aiming to finish!

Champion (Legend #3)

Champion (Legend, #3)

How did I get it?:
I bought it!

Previously reviewed by the same author:

He is a Legend.

She is a Prodigy.

Who will be Champion?

June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic—and each other—and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government’s elite circles as Princeps-Elect, while Day has been assigned a high-level military position.

But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them: just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic’s border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country’s defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything.

With heart-pounding action and suspense, Marie Lu’s bestselling trilogy draws to a stunning conclusion.

I have had a hard time with this series. I really loved Legend, wasn’t so keen on Prodigy, even though many of my friends enjoyed it. I wanted to finish the trilogy though to see how it was going to end. Despite me not liking this series as much as my blogging friends have, I have found it enjoyable enough to read and fast paced! This trilogy is full of interesting characters so I do think it’s worth exploring!

Again, I have trouble reviewing the last book in the series. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone that has yet to complete it. Champion takes place several months after the end of Prodigy. June is in training as a Princeps-Elect and Day has moved to San Fransisco with his younger brother. June and Day haven’t seen each other since after the events in Prodigy. After the Colonies declare war unless they are given a cure for the plague, June has to seek Day’s help. It is believed that Day’s brother Eden, holds the cure, but they need Day’s permission to use him.

Champion is action packed, but there is time for quieter scenes which I really appreciated. I adore June and Day interactions and their romance felt more real in this book which I very much enjoyed. I felt like I got them a hell of a lot more in Champion. The story itself is fast paced and feels a lot more political than the other books. As for the ending… I wasn’t overly impressed but it did wrap the trilogy up nicely and gave some answers to questions raised in the previous books, even if I wasn’t totally convinced by the resolutions!

Would I recommend it?:

A solid ending to the trilogy which wraps up the story nicely!

This Week In Books #1

I am joining in with the lovely Lipsy from Lipsy’s Lost and Found’s feature which highlights our week in books. I shall be sharing what I’m reading now, then and next and what I’ve recently added to my wishlist. I won’t be showcasing my new books as I do that on a Saturday. I’m really excited by this feature as I loved sharing my recent reads. My book reviews published on my blog are often WAY behind what I’m actually reading, so this is a good feature to keep you up to date!

As you might guess, this month I’m working on reading series. I’m finding that dedicating every second month to series means I’m getting through a lot more than I was before.

Now- I am just starting Hexed by Michelle Krys. I have heard mixed things about this book, but I really like to check out a book myself before dismissing it!

Then- I finished Perfect Ruin by Lauren DeStefano. Oh gosh. I can’t express how much I loved this book. I think Lauren DeStefano is an amazing writer and I’ll certainly be buying the next book so I can continue with this series!

Next- Next up I will be finishing the Legend series by Marie Lu. I am looking forward to finishing this series. I didn’t like Prodigy as much as I hoped I would (I know, I know. I’m a naughty bookworm!)

Added to my wishlist!

This Shattered World (Starbound, #2)

Please feel free to leave a link to your posts which detail your week in books, whether you link up with Lipsy or still post WWW Wednesday posts. I love to see them all!

Strong in every possible way!

Divergent (Divergent, #1)

Skeeter, Aibileen and Minny- The Help

The Help

I absolutely love these ladies from The Help. I especially admire Skeeter for trying to make a difference.

Champion (Legend, #3) Ashes to Ashes (Burn for Burn, #3)  Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) Choker

These first three books were bought as part of my goal to read some series this year. I’m looking forward to finishing the Legend and Burn For Burn trilogy and also to step into some Maggie Stiefvater. I have heard many mixed things about Maggie Stiefvater’s Shiver… but I’m hoping I enjoy it! Choker came up recently as recommended on Amazon and I was immediately drawn in by the synopsis. It is a thriller, but it certainly doesn’t look like one from the cover!

What have you added to your shelves this week? Feel free to leave a link to your posts and I’ll stop by!

15 for 2015

In 2014, I highlighted 14 series that were on my radar- either to finish or to start! I’ve decided to do the same for this year as I think it’s a great way to encourage myself to finish off series, or start series that I already own and don’t need to buy! I can totally justify this as I finished many series last year doing the same thing…so I’m ready to begin more! 😉

Series I need to finish or become up to date with ready for the next release-

Splintered (Splintered, #1)Unhinged (Splintered, #2)Ensnared (Splintered, #3)

I have only read the first book in the Splintered series. I need to read Unhinged and then catch up with Ensnared which comes out in a few days!

-Something Strange and Deadly-

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1)A Darkness Strange and Lovely (Something Strange and Deadly, #2)Strange and Ever After (Something Strange and Deadly, #3)

Again, I have read the first book in this series. I need to read A Darkness Strange and Lovely and Strange and Ever After.

Birthmarked (Birthmarked #1)Prized (Birthmarked, #2)Promised

There’s a theme running through the first three series on this list… I’ve started the first but not yet continued. I am looking forward to reading Prized and Promised. Aren’t these covers just beautiful?

Legend (Legend, #1)Prodigy (Legend, #2)Champion (Legend, #3)

Wahoo! A series where I only have one left to read. I’m hoping to read Champion ASAP so I can finish off this series!

-Unwind Dystology-

Unwind (Unwind, #1)Unwholly (Unwind, #2)UnSouled (Unwind, #3)

I started Unwind in 2014, after hearing lots of people rave about it. I aim to continue the series with Unwholly and Unsouled.

-Burn For Burn-

Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn, #1)Fire with Fire (Burn for Burn, #2)Ashes to Ashes (Burn for Burn, #3)

I have read the first two books in this series. I completely forgot about Ashes to Ashes, but I’m looking forward to finishing the trilogy!

-The Summer I Turned Pretty-

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1)It's Not Summer Without You (Summer, #2)We'll Always Have Summer (Summer, #3)

I have only got to read We’ll Always Have Summer and then I’m finished with this sweet trilogy!

Series I aim to start-

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1)The Giver (The Giver, #1)Awaken (Awaken, #1)Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1)Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1)

Have you read any of the series that I’m yet to start? Which should I prioritise? Let me know!

14 series that were on my radar… How did I do?

Series that I completed:

(Click on the book cover for my review, if I’ve read it already!)

-Mara Dyer-

8591107 12950372 15768409

I have so much love for Michelle Hodkin’s writing. This series is seriously crazy, but yet still so readable. It’s messed with my mind, and I although the ending wasn’t exactly what I wanted I still absolutely adore this series.

-Shatter Me-

13455782 13104080 13188676

I’ve absolutely been sucked into this world. Ignite Me was a decent ending to the series!

-Under The Never Sky-

11594257 14742334 14288998

I haven’t loved this series as much as others I’ve read, but I was still intrigued enough to see how it all ends. Into The Still Blue was a solid ending!

-Chaos Walking-

2118745 6043849 8100904

I can’t believe I managed to complete this beast of a series! Very pleased I did though. It was incredibly enjoyable. I ❤ Patrick Ness.

I started and finished this series in 2014! I loved it.

Series I got up to date with…

-The Lunar Chronicles-

cinder imagesCAUSDFEL 13206828

Series incomplete:

7735333 15812814 13125947

I read Matched, but I just could not get on with Crossed, so I stopped reading! Not bad out of a selection of so many series on my radar in 2014!

I could not get into these books!

Series that I wanted to start and have done so!:

9859436 9462812 9275658 8763666

Soon I shall publish the series on my radar for 2015. It’s been good to have this to look back on and remember the series that I wanted to start and complete!
