It’s Tuesday again, so it’s time for another Top Ten list. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely The Broke and The Bookish, who love making lists. This week’s list is quite hard for me, because I tend to steer clear of movie adaptations because I’m SO worried that they’re going to wreck the book I love.
So… I have decided to share the ones I have watched and liked and then share the ones I’m worried are going to be the worst movie adaptations. I’m hoping that if you’ve watched them and enjoyed them I will too.
I’ve added trailers to this week’s list, so you can check out the trailer and go on to watch the movie if you feel that way inclined..
Harry Potter- J.K Rowling
I realise for some people, this might be on their worst movie adaptations list, but I think the Harry Potter series as a whole was well adapted to the big screen. Yes, some of them didn’t include all that I’d wanted to see, but I was overall impressed with the adaptations. My favourite out of the series was Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
One Day- David Nicholls
I loved this book. Really loved it. The movie also brought me to tears.
Little Women- Louisa May Alcott (1994 version)
I have a lot of love for this book. I’ve read it so much. I used to watch this movie quite religiously.
Lord Of The Flies-William Golding
I studied this book at school and loved the movie adaptation too.
The next two are two I firmly remember from childhood.
The Witches- Roald Dahl
I used to be terrified of The Grand High Witch in the book and in the movie 😉
Matilda- Roald Dahl
Oh my goodness, I used to watch this ALL the time. I loved Matilda. Mara Wilson was such a great child actress
That’s it! The next four are movies that I’m anxious to watch because I’m worried it’ll ruin my precious memories of the books!
The Other Boleyn Girl- Philippa Gregory
I am obsessed with the Tudors. I really enjoyed Philippa Gregory’s Tudor series and I’m worried the movie will ruin my love of the book!
My Sister’s Keeper- Jodi Picoult
Another one I’m terrified to watch. I’ve heard the movie really changes the book. Noooo.
The Secret Life Of Bees- Sue Monk Kidd
The Secret Life of Bees was a great book. Not sure how well it would be adapted!
The Help- Kathyrn Stockett
I can’t express how much I loved this book. It makes me worried to watch the film. I’ve heard it’s good, I think I just need that confirmed!
Please feel free to leave your links to your best/worst movie adaptation lists and I’ll come by and see what you’ve added. If you’ve watched any of my 4 I’m nervous to watch, please let me know your opinions on them!
By the way, I’m on Bloglovin’ now so let me know if you follow me, and I’ll follow you back!
