Top Ten Hyped Books I’ve Never Read

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s list are the Top Ten Hyped Books That I’ve Never Read. I hope I don’t offend anyone with my choices!

As ever the book images go to Goodreads!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo- Stieg Larsson

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)

I don’t know what it is about this series, it just doesn’t seem to appeal to me at all. I don’t have any desire whatsoever to read it, even though I know it’s supposed to be amazing!

A Game Of Thrones- George R. R Martin

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

I’m just stepping into the world of fantasy and I have to admit, the size of this book and the length of this series puts me off!

Red Rising- Pierce Brown

Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy, #1)

Hmm… I keep seeing this series around and I’m not sure that I want to read it!

The Heir- Kiera Cass

The Heir (The Selection, #4)

I have such trouble with this one. The cover is BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed the series enough, but I just feel like it’s being dragged out a little? Feel free to convince me otherwise…

City of Bones- Cassandra Clare

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)

My good friend really enjoys Cassandra Clare’s writing. I’m just not sure I want to commit myself to another series…

Lord of The Rings- J.R.R Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings (The Lord of the Rings, #1-3)

Lord Of The Rings is another epic read which I don’t think I’ll get around to. I have no interest in it. I’ll go hide now…

Dracula- Bram Stoker

Dracula

I know the story, I’m just not compelled to read the story.

It- Stephen King

It

My sister picked this one for me. She really doesn’t think I’ll EVER read this book. I think she’s right…

The Poisonwood Bible- Barbara Kingsolver

The Poisonwood Bible

I’ve heard good things about this book. I may read it in the future, it’s just not one that stands out to me right now.

The Cuckoo’s Calling- Robert Galbraith

The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1)

I have had this book for so long waiting to be read, but again… not compelled to read it!

Have I mentioned any of your favourites? Feel free to leave a link to your Top Ten posts and I’ll stop by! 🙂

Ten Books I’ll Probably Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the wonderful The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s list are the Top Ten books I’ll probably never read. I dislike doing lists like this because I hate to mention books I won’t read, but I do have my reasons and I’m always open to persuasion if I mention one of your favourites…

Book images go to Goodreads!

Game of Thrones- George R.R Martin

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

Don’t hurt me! I just have no desire to read this book at all. It’s such a commitment and I’m not sure it’s my sort of thing anyway.

Lord Of The Rings- J.R.R Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings (The Lord of the Rings, #1-3)

Eek! I’m sorry. It’s just not my sort of thing at all.

War and Peace- Leo Tolstoy

War and Peace

You might be sensing a theme here. Long, epic reads like this aren’t really my sort of thing. I feel like I’d slog my way through it and not enjoy it. Despite it being a classic that I really should try.

Anna Karenina- Leo Tolstoy

Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina is a book that I have went to read so many times. I think I need to face up to the fact that I’m never gonna read it.

Moby Dick- Herman Melville

Moby-Dick; or, The Whale

Moby Dick is another book that I think I should read as a book lover, I just don’t think I will… too many other books to enjoy!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo- Stieg Larsson

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)

I don’t know why, but I’ve never felt compelled to read this trilogy. I’ve heard good things, but it just doesn’t appeal!

Beautiful Disaster- Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1)

This is one of those books that mixed reviews have been putting me off reading this book. It’s strange, as usually I like to give a book a try, but something makes me uncomfortable about it. Please tell me if I’m wrong. As I said, I’m open to being persuaded otherwise…

Fallen- Lauren Kate

Fallen (Fallen, #1)

Fallen has a gorgeous cover, but again- mixed reviews. I just don’t see myself reading it.

Hush, Hush- Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1)

Much like Fallen, I’m pretty ‘meh’ about this book. I’m not inspired to read it.

The Maze Runner- James Dashner

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1)

My reason for not picking up The Maze Runner is that I’ve heard the series isn’t as good as the first book. I always feel compelled to finish series (even though I don’t always) I’m just not sure I have time to start a series that I won’t invest in.

Do you want to convince me otherwise? Please feel free to leave your honest opinion. I can be persuaded otherwise! 😉 Please leave a link to your posts too and I shall stop by!
